The destinations and attractions featured here include the
lesser-known places not visited by many tourists.

The Philippines is an island country composed of 3 major islands – Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. If you travel by plane, you can fly directly to Luzon via Ninoy International Airport (Metro Manila); to Visayas via Mactan-Cebu International Airport and to Mindanao via Francisco Bangoy or Davao International Airport. Another international airport which opened in 1996 in Mindanao is located in General Santos City named Tambler Airport. And in the northern part of Metro Manila, the Clark International Airport located in Clark, Pampanga was opened a few years back to service passengers from Northern Luzon.

You can travel between the major and smaller islands by domestic plane, boat or ferry and by land where available. The mode of transport within these islands is usually by bus which are reasonably priced. Long distance train is not available to cross towns and provinces. In smaller towns, jeepney is available from early morning to night, but reaching very remote places in the countryside requires special transport like hired vehicles, small boats, motorbikes or by trekking.
